2022 Chautauqua

  • Museum of the Great Plains 701 Northwest Ferris Avenue Lawton, OK, 73507 United States (map)

Chautauqua returns to Lawton from June 21 through June 25, 2022, live and in-person. Workshops will be held at 10 am and 2 pm, at Museum of the Great Plains.  Evening in-character performances will take place at Lawton City Hall Auditorium at 7 pm.  All events are free and open to the public.

The 2022 Chautauqua theme is “Surviving the Sixties:  Sex, Drugs & Rock ‘n’ Roll.”  Charles Dickens said of the French Revolution: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times," which may also be said of the 1960s. We will delve into this challenging decade by experiencing the music, poetry, literature, and, yes, drugs and sex, of the 1960s.
